Philips Viva Collection Air Fryer Review
Welcome to my Philips Viva Collection Air Fryer Review. There are 2 models in this series, HD9220 and HD9230. These two Philips Air Fryer models are the highest rated at this time of writing with Philips stating that they are the fastest and produce the most even results with their unique and patented starfish design.
Both are similar with only a few key differences, mainly the timer and user interface where one is digital and the other is analog.

With adjustable temperature controls, they are a distinct advantage over other brands because you have the ability to select a temperature best suited for your food to obtain the best results.
With both timer and audible alerts and auto shut-off, you will know when your cooking is done and no need to worry about over cooking or burning your food since the air fryer will shut down when cooking is done.
Cleaning up is a breeze with their sleek exterior and simply pulling out the bottom half of the air fryer to remove the cooking basket and pan which are dishwasher safe or can be hand-washed too. They come with non-stick coating so don’t use abrasive cleaning material when washing.
How Do These Two Philips Viva Series Air Fryer Models Differ?
- The HD9230 is a more high tech version with digital control via a touch screen display where you can do all your settings whereas the HD9220 comes with an analog dial knob.
- There is a longer timer, 60 minutes on the HD9230 vs 30 minutes on the HD9220.
The digital model is pricier with a double layer rack thrown in and longer timer but other than that, they both perform the same.
Both Philips Viva Series Air Fryer Models come with compatible accessories
You can purchase additional optional accessories for baking, grilling and roasting. These accessories will add on to your cost but they also give you a lot more flexibility when it comes to cooking options.
Which Of The Philips Viva Collection Air Fryer Is Better?
Between the two models, I personally prefer and use the Philips HD9230, not because of its’ digital controls (I prefer analog controls) but because of the versatility of the 60 minutes timer. And you will need to experiment, try out different recipe and tweaking it a little to suit your taste.
I hope my Philips Viva Collection Air Fryer review has helped in deciding which is better model suited for you. Happy Shopping!
